The Needles

The red and white rock pinnacles are visible throughout the whole district, mixed with other rock formations like potholes, arches, spires, and domes. This area also features a special rock formation called hoodoos. The hoodoos are flat-topped spires created as relatively soft strata erode below a more erosion-resistant cap rock. These hoodoos range from tens to hundreds of feet tall.
